Sahara the cheetah and Alexa the Anatolian shepherd dog grew up together in the Cincinnati Zoo. They are part of the Cat Ambassador Program of the zoo, with the cooperation of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, in order to protect these cats from getting endangered. The program informs the farmers in Namibia and in South Africa on how these shepherd dogs can help to protect their livestock from cheetahs without having to resort to shooting them.
