11. Black Dragon Fish

Another example of what we don’t know won’t hurt us. If you’ve seen the movie “Alien” then you’d probably think that this was the fish, that served as inspiration for the chest burster as the two look alike. The dragon fish can be found about 1,000 meters down, and like its fellow deep sea creatures, the dragon fish has its own luminous organ that it’s prey can’t see in order for them to hunt.

Knowing that it’s located at the deep, dark, depths of the ocean would be enough for us to be relieved that we don’t see these often. And it’s a good thing we don’t.
