Snakes are usually associated with bad things when it comes to literature – the snake that tempted Adam and Eve to bite into the apple, the basilisk that petrifies people in the Chamber of Secrets, the evil anaconda that swallows people whole. While there are snakes that are mostly harmless, a.k.a the ones we see in the zoos, there are also snakes that we should never, ever, go near. A word of caution to those who happen to come across any of the snakes here: Try not to bother them, they may end your life. Or at least send you to the hospital if you do.

1. Belcher’s Sea Snake

Now, sea snakes, in general although they can be venomous, they are pretty harmless IF they aren’t threatened. However, the Belcher’s sea snake, well, is one of the most venomous in the world. Just a few milligrams of their venom can immediately kill a thousand people. So, it’s best to stay away from these.
