8. Dumbo Octopus

Also known as the Grimpoteuthis, this is a kind of pelagic umbrella octopus that lives down in the deep blue sea. They can be found off the coast of Oregon, as well as in places in the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, Papua, and Papua New Guinea among many others. They are also one of the deepest living octopuses that have been discovered and studied.
